Hello I’m hoping I can gather some information from here. myself, partner and daughter are due to travel Cala D’Or at the end of July (Martha’s) and I’m just wondering what the situation is there at present. I’m a little unsure what to expect To be honest, I have not been told the holiday will be cancelled so I’m trying to prepare myself. will we need to wear face masks, are the beaches open, are bars and restaurants open, will we be able to use the pool, will we need to go into quarantine?  Maybe silly questions so I apologise in advance if they are- it’s just a worrying time as it is for all and what should be an exciting holiday countdown is now becoming Mixture of emotions!

Many thanks, stay safe and with love from West Yorkshire 🌈🌈🌈

Hello, just seen your message. I live 5 minutes walk from where you are due to stay. As of today, there is no preparation going on at the hotel or restaurants, bars  or shops in Cala Egos which is the location you are staying. Masks are compulsory in all public places. Social distancing is enforced everywhere.  Limited numbers on beaches and in pools. Times need to be booked in advance and you can only stay for 45 minutes. Any non compliance incurs an on the spot fine of 600 euros. This is a ghost town. I have lived here for 10 years permanently and have never seen it like this. Having listened to the government, things will not get back to some kind of normality until next year. I have told my kids and family not to waste their time or money trying to come over. Just not worth it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but thought you should know so you can make up your own mind.

Thank you for the above reply, we still have not heard anything regarding our holiday but we have read restrictions are now lifted in Spain.

Could you provide me with another update of the area please.

Kind regards.

Cala Ferrara the same. Not that we ever venture out there by choice but who knows? Perhaps there will be a little more open but considering it's mainly British orientated bars I wonder how many will survive.  I am more worried about our Spanish  business owners tbh

Hi there. Thanks very much for your email. We cancelled our trip yesterday as we were able to get 100% refund but would have had to paid the balance today had we not. It's a shame but we felt on balance things are still very unclear so we made the tough decision to cancel. We will definitely be re-booking for the same place but will wait until things become clearer.

You probably did the right thing as awful as it must of been, we were so excited to Go but hay ho. I just hope Spain can recover from all this as we definitely will be re booking when safe to do so.

Take care and stay safe
