Ferries to Mallorca

I am moving to Mallorca from a Gran Canaria and am looking for the best way to get my car to the island. Which is the best, fastest and best value ferry? Where does it go from and to? Is there a residents discount (to which we are entitled)?
Am I allowed to hire a van and drive it onto the island from mainland Spain?
Does anyone know of any reputable movers, or men with a van, who can move my personal belongings and 2 motorcycles?
